O Christmas Tree!

Dada got home from work early today and decided to go pick up a tree.  It was drizzling when we were getting ready to leave the house but mama and dada decided to go anyways since more rain is expected during the weekend.  We were very efficient and actually picked the first tree that we saw on the lot.  It started raining harder and harder, so dada and mama rushed to get the tree tied up on the top of the car and it only got a little wet by the time we got home.

Oranges, oranges, oranges

This year we have quite a number of oranges from our tree in the yard.  Normally I’m not a huge fan of oranges, but I have been enjoying our own crop.   I can’t really finish the whole orange after dinner so I usually split half of it with dada.

Pretend City

There is a new children’s museum in Irvine called Pretend City.  Since this is mama’s last work-from-home day as she will resume her normal work schedule on Monday, she decided to take me there to avoid having to fight the weekend crowd in the future.  The museum is basically a huge space that is divided into kid-sized city complete with streets, grocery store, beach, marina, post office etc.  I had a lot of fun cooking mama a bowl of noodles in the Vietnamese restaurant, doing some art work in the art studio, driving around in the city, picking apples and oranges in the orchard….. but my favorite was grocery shopping at the mini Ralphs, where I visited twice during our stay.

Test driving the fire engine (what do you think Uncle Kerry?)

Happy Halloween!

Ella 2009 Halloween

Mama spent a lot of time again this year trying to pick out the cutest costume.  At first, she wanted my costume to go with Elyse’s, sort of having some type of a theme.  Unfortunately, she couldn’t find anything that she likes for Elyse, so I got my bumble bee outfit and Elyse got her Halloween onesie with a little ghost beanie.

Mama also spent some time and effort to take our Halloween photos.  This year, with two of us, and Elyse being so small, she didn’t dare take us to a portrait studio and opted to do it herself instead.  She is very happy with the results, and gave herself a big pat on the back!

Trick or treating is so much more fun this year! I actually understand what I’m supposed to do.  Riley and I went from door to door, and I rang all the door bells.  Everyone had candies for us and I was so happy to fill my little bucket.  I was also interested in all the Halloween decoration at people’s houses, and when I see older kids in odd costumes, I keep telling mama that they all look very strange.  I don’t understand why everyone isn’t wearing a cute tutu skirt like Riley and me!  When we got home, Riley and her family stayed for dinner and we all had some chocolate for dessert.  Check out all the Halloween photos under the “Photo Albums” page.

Pumpkin Patch

Mama took me to the pumpkin patch and we met up with Auntie Linda and Riley, as well as Yee-yee, uncle Kerry and cousin Jacquelyn.  I didn’t really care for the pumpkins, but had fun riding on all the little rides and feeding the goats with Yee-yee.  Check out all the photos under the “Photo Albums” page.

Time for a haircut again!

Mama went for a haircut and I went along for my trim also.  I think mama has decided to bring me everytime so that Nanny Susan can concentrate on Elyse and not have to take care of the both of us at the same time.  I love getting my hair cut!

Dancing Class

Mama has been taking me to a “Mommy and Me” dancing class.  I love the class and mama was finally convinced to spend the money to get me the right gear.  Although it looks like a ballet class, it’s not entirely, as we learn various dance steps.  Here are some photos from my classes.

Moon Festival

Today is Moon Festival and grandma-paw-paw bought dada and mama some mooncakes.  I tried two bites and didn’t really care for it.  As always, I don’t have much of a sweet tooth.

My Masterpiece

I have always liked to draw.  But since mama has been taking me to more art classes, I have spent more time fine tuning my drawing skills.  Here’s my most recent masterpiece.  Not sure what it is?  You can refer to the explanatory version below that mama has put together.

By the way, this is not a self portrait.  I wrote my name as a signature on my work.   I do this because I see mama writing my name on all my art work during my art classes.
